The 2 months my business was shut down, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, were the most stressful I have endured (and I’ve endured infant & toddler triplets!).
While I’m always financially prepared for the couple of slow months I have each winter, I certainly wasn’t prepared to immediately chase those slow months with a complete shut down. I had an enormous rent to cover each month, and our family depends on my income to help with our personal finances.
So I tried to pivot. I pivoted as much as I could, to help my little business survive.
I put gift cards on sale, and people bought them.
I taught DSLR and Mirrorless camera classes online, and people took them.
I taught cell phone photography classes online, and people signed up for those.
I pivoted, and thanks to the support of amazing people, Faces You Love survived.
I was especially touched by two specific purchases though. The first came when a friend purchased a large gift card and had it sent to me instead of themselves, with a note that they hoped this money would help me. She had no intention of using it towards a session herself, she simply wanted to bless me. I cried!
Then, a few weeks later, another friend who now lives out of state also purchased a large gift card and asked that I use it to bless a family in need.
Here I am, ready to bless two Kansas City families or business owners with a Moment of Relief! If you have experienced financial hardship due to COVID 19, I want you to apply. Maybe you were laid off or furloughed. Maybe you own a small business that experienced a long shut down like I did. Maybe a loved one had COVID 19 and was hospitalized, and those bills are astronomical.

- Professional hair & makeup service (generously donated by The Piercing Beauty, my regular hair & makeup artist at the studio!)
- Choice of 6 digital images from that session.
- Session will be held in July or August 2020.
